I'm just finishing up the throttle linkage for my M20 ITB set-up and I'll hopefully be doing a final test fit on the car in the next few days before taking it all apart and painting what needs to be painted. I'll do some sort of write up about the project after taking it to the dyno. Then !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! will have actually finished our set-up lol...

Be really interested to see your dyno results. I'm looking at the parts for a 2.8L m20 stroker motor but wasn't sure if ITBs would be worth it, especially for a street car. Be watching with interest!

Very cool :) what sort of specs is the rest of the engine/what power are you looking to make?

The engine is a 2.8L stroker with a 284 cam and long tube headers. It dynoed last year at 182whp and wtq. I'd be very happy to see something close to 200whp with the street tune that I have done on my own. If I were to rent some dyno time I'd be able to get some more out of it.

There's documented evidence out there that a properly designed ITB set-up on an M20 motor can easily give gains of 20-30whp.

That's damn impressive :) so something like 220-230 at the flywheel hopefully.
The noise is going to be biblical as well :)
So lets say 230bhp, and 1180kg for an E30 325i = 194.9bhp/ton, which is a very respectable p/w ratio to accompany the sound. Should be a bit of a rocketship.

Yeah, it's definitely not bad for an old 2 valve lump!

Very very cool. What I am after for my car is a motor that can still be daily driven but is plenty of fun. So around 200-220hp I would be happy with at the crank. As long as you don't lose out too much on low end torque with the ITBs those would make a great addition since I already have a set of S50 ITBs. The extra displacement would likely compensate anyway. As for cams I had heard that 288 can be a bit wild for a street car, some say say that 272 is a bit tame. I was thinking either a 272 or a 272/284 dual pattern (people say good things about those). I would love to see your parts list if you dont mind!

Also, I am allowed to post my email or ask for yours? It would be great to stay in contact with someone who has some experience with setting up an M20. Cheers!
